Employee Success Stories

Julius

Jana

Jon

“I’m glad that I joined fotograf.de at the beginning of my career. They have really opened lots of doors for me.”

Julius went from marketing intern to Chief Revenue Officer in just two years.

He earned a liberal arts degree in literature before discovering that he was interested in a more business-related career path. So he landed an internship position in marketing at our company which opened some exciting doors. He moved on from marketing to process optimization to finally customer success. But it didn’t take long for others to notice his real passion and talent – that of managing people. Today Julius is responsible for a team of 25 people in Marketing, Sales, and Business Development. It’s his mission to keep his team in tip-top shape so as to best help the company grow.

“I learned a lot here and got to try so many different things. There’s always the trust and freedom to do that.”

Jana is one of the first employees to relocate to our new office in New York. Being initially hired for performance marketing, she now heads up the entire marketing for the US market.

Jana has a Cultural Studies and American Studies degree but specalized in performance marketing in her previous job. Since joining us in January 2018 she has been playing a key role in establishing scalable processes in performance marketing. However, her job always allowed to work on a variety of other marketing projects, which ultimately sparked her interest in general marketing as well. When she was offered the opportunity to join the US team, she happily took on this new challenge. Jana is currently leading all of our marketing campaigns in the US and is excited that she can build something from the start.
Looking back, what’s most important for her is the fact that she found a workplace where she feels comfortable to voice her opinion, where she feels appreciated, and where she is able to continue to learn professionally and personally day after day.

“When they say they’ll consider you for future positions, they actually mean it!”

After applying for a job with us, Jon was offered an appealing position two months later in Customer Success that combined his passions for both photography and customer service.

Jon has a long background in photography, including a degree in commercial photography. While working with one of the top print & retouch labs in London, he realized that he wanted to move his career forward and relocate to Berlin. So he applied by sending us a prospective application. He passed all of the interviews but ultimately there wasn’t enough of the right position at that time to offer full time. So Jon went back to his job in London. Two months later, Ana the HR manager called to offer him a job in Customer Success which Jon happily took.
One year later, his career has advanced with a move into Enterprise Account Management – which brings new challenges, both dynamic and rewarding. Jon says, “GotPhoto is always evolving and I consider the company to be very progressive and forward thinking.”
